~ Durable and affordable, a basic cap is wefts of hair that are machine sewn together to create the size & shape of the cap. These wefts are stretchable ribbons which create greater flexibility to the overall cap.
~ The hair sewn into the wefts is ever-so-slightly teased at the root to hide the material underneath which also provides volume to the style.
~ The term “open cap” refers to wigs that have more open wefts at the crown while the “traditional cap” has a layer of fabric sewn in. An open cap will be light weight and allow for more air flow to the scalp for a comfortably cool all-day wear.
These wig caps go by many names:
basic caps, wefted caps, open caps, vented caps, machine-made, machine-wefted
but they are all considered basic wig caps.
